Dan and Pam Steele formed a LLC on April 23, 2002 after buying Sonny Boy's Package Liquor from the previous owners.  The Store was very run down and only had one beer cooler(4 Doors only) at that time.  In July of that same year they purchased a like new 10 door cooler and had it installed.  The old 4 door beer cooler was converted to soft drink beverages at that time.  Just a few months later due to continued increase in the variety of special drinks we had three one door coolers brought in by our soft drink suppliers.  We have added many new brands of beers that have caused a demand for additional cooler space.  In the late summer of last year we purchased a like-new two door cooler for additional specialty drinks.  We have more than double the varieties of wines and offer case lot discount pricing.

In the beginning we purchased mostly by the bottle, from 3 to 6 of each particular item.  We now purchase in most all cases, in case lots. This alone has helped us offer better pricing to our customers and gives us a better margin. 

On October 23rd, 2003 we changed the name from Sonny Boy' s Package Liquor, to D & P Package Liquor .  In November we signed a two year contract for our own Bill Board for West bound traffic.  This was very helpful in increasing our out of town business. 

Business has shown steady growth since the very beginning and we constantly work on improvement  in our product mixes in all areas of our products to keep sales ticking upward.  We purchased a new P.O.S. system in the Spring of 2003 have practically all of products on this new computer system .  We feel that the new system has helped us in keeping a better handle on purchasing as well as our sales.
